Volunteer Training On the Go Week #5!!

Hey TEAM!!

Guess what?  It’s that time again…time for another volunteer training on the go!  I hope you all have had a GREAT week and are looking forward to your weekend.  We are really excited about our weekend services as we are in week 4 of our SHAPE series and will be exploring the P for personality.  I’m so excited to see how God will move in the lives of our students this week!!

This week’s training (linked below) is the beginning of a series of 4 that will focus on working together as a team to make an impact in our students lives!  As a team of volunteers, we should all strive to work TOGETHER with the same vision for seeing our students grow in their relationship with CHRIST.  You can be the best small group leader, weekend leader, etc in the world, but if you aren’t a team player, it can begin to bring dissension and confusion to the ministry that will, in turn, cause damage to our ministry.  We should all BELIEVE in the ministry, SUPPORT the ministry and be INTENTIONAL in our participation.  When we work together as a team, we ALL win!!

When I read the attached training, I immediately thought of the “Miracle on Ice” story from the 1980 Winter Olympics.  Maybe I thought of it because, like Donnie said last week, I’m going through Olympic withdrawal and my mind is using EVERY excuse to take me back!  Or…maybe it’s because that was such an incredible story of how a group of mostly unknown college hockey players did the UNTHINKABLE and thought-to-be IMPOSSIBLE by beating the Russians and going on to win the gold medal.  They didn’t win because they were the BEST team with the MOST talent and the BIGGEST stars.  They won because they WORKED TOGETHER as a team better than anyone else on the ice in those games.  When they used each persons skills to the fullest potential WITHIN the team, they achieved what is being called “America’s GREATEST sports achievement of the 20th century!”  Wow!  What a GREAT example of teamwork!

So, may God grant us the vision and determination to work together as a team in our ministry to the students He has entrusted to us!  We can DO IT!  I love you guys!!
